Rabbi Kenneth Block began his rabbinical career in 1974 as the Rabbi of the Jewish Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland. In 1978, Rabbi Block was honored with the Boston College Alumni Association Award of Excellence for Religion. Upon leaving his initial post in 1998, Rabbi Block then began serving Temple Beth Torah in Centreville, Virginia where he still serves as the Rabbi of a 100 family congregation. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Rabbi Block was ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, and is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
He is also an addiction Chaplain for the Veterans Administration Maryland Health Care Systems, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Chaplain for the Maryland State Firemen's Association, and the Chaplain for the Bel Air, Maryland Volunteer Fire Company. In addition, he acts as a facilitator of an American Cancer Society support group.
Aside from the innumerable weddings and other religious and secular ceremonies Rabbi Block has performed in association with specific organizations, he has written and performed well over 500 ceremonies outside of those affiliations. Currently licensed to perform weddings in most of the states, Rabbi Block is happy to obtain licensure to perform ceremonies anywhere your plans may take you. In addition, he is willing to travel to whatever destination you choose for your special day.
